No. You can record and export locally without ever signing in. You only sign in when you want to share a recording as a cloud link — and even then, viewers never need an account to watch or comment.
Yes. Chrome shows that message for any file it hasn’t yet seen many people download. It’s about the file being new, not about anything wrong being found in it, and it fades as more people download Klipsend. Safari doesn’t show it at all.
What keeps you safe is Apple’s check. Every Klipsend release is signed with our Apple developer certificate and scanned by Apple for malicious software before it is published (Apple calls this notarization). If the file had been changed by anyone else, your Mac would refuse to open it.
To finish the download in Chrome: click the download icon at the top right of the window, then choose Download suspicious file (some Chrome versions say Keep). Open the file, drag Klipsend into Applications, and open it. The first time, your Mac asks whether you want to open an app downloaded from the internet. Click Open.
